It is estimated more than 500 million new toner cartridges are made every year. If these empty cartridges were placed end-to-end, they would circle the planet more than three times. To manufacture a new cartridge, it is estimated more than 3 quarts of oil are used. When you add it up, this equates to almost 7 million barrels of wasted oil every year. Cartridges take more than 1,000 years to decompose and end up in our landfills or are exported to cities like Guiyu, China where they are improperly disposed of.
Almost 20 years ago, our engineers developed a unique process to manufacture high-quality, environmentally conscious products. We reuse plastic gears, screws, cartridge shells and other non-wearing parts. Our process utilizes about 50% less energy than making a new cartridge and costs 20-40% less. It is time to make a difference and, in the end, your wallet and Mother Earth will thank you!
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTS
In 1993, the US government issued an executive order mandating preferential purchasing of environmentally conscious products — including toner cartridges.
In 1997, the EPA deemed remanufactured toner cartridges “just as good as” new!
In 2001,
remanufactures likely saved 29.7 million toner cartridges
and 136.5 million ink cartridges from the landfill.
Remanufactured
cartridges can have up to 20% more toner than the original
equipment manufacturers (OEM) cartridges which reduces the
frequency replacement cartridges are needed.
Reusing cartridges
uses less energy than recycling.
In 2002, Lyra Research concluded that 77% of users ranked remanufactured cartridges as equivalent or better than the originals.
In 2008, our manufacturing facility will recycle more than 1 million pounds of manufacturing scrap and our cartridges will prevent approximately 2 million pounds of plastics and metals waste from entering our landfills.
